Fit and care
Care and repairs
Good cloth lasts for decades with a little care. Each product page has care notes for its own cloth; these are the general rules.
After wearing
- Brush tweed and flannel with a clothes brush, downwards, to lift dust and mud.
- Hang jackets and waistcoats on a shaped hanger, buttons undone, in a breathable garment bag.
- Let wool rest for a day between wears so the fibres recover.
- Steam out creases rather than pressing; press velvet only from the reverse, over a towel.
Cleaning
Dry clean tailoring only when it needs it, and spot clean small marks with a damp cloth. Follow the care label: it takes precedence over these notes.
